No spend August update

I had mid month update but i have no idea where and why blogspot lost it , i saved it but it got lost/deleted somewhere.

How my month went?

Make up wise i didnt bought anything new. I looked and maybe had some things in my basket but never completed purchase! But not gonna lie almost slipped few times. So maybe i saved little bit there.

As it goes for take away coffee, i spend 5 euros less than last month, that's not really good! And honestly i dont think i actually tried!

After looking trough all my purchases i either buy coffee or food/take away/ ready to eat. I'm lazy and yes i'll blame my shitty schedule and i dont have time or want to cook! But that's not cheap and not good for me! So i'll have to work on that next month.

The things i wanted/needed to buy:

I needed sandals for summer - i got them for less than 20 euros. Maybe they are not best looking ones, but Walkmaxx makes comfiest shoes and that's more important than something pretty that gives you the worst blisters!

I bought 2 pairs of  earphones - they wasnt  that expensive and i love them. Sound is amazing!

I didn't bought that t shirt i wanted, but maybe i'll buy it later, i still want it, i just dont need it.

As for clothes - i sticked to only buying something i need, and trifted 2 things  - awesome small hand bag and Levis jean jacket - wasnt expensive and honestly i cant find things in trift stores that i really like. Usually when i go, i come out with at least bag full of things but this month just 2 things. Checked new store and i dont know maybe in bigger cities selection is not that good?!

So in conclusion i dint save that much, but i'm not giving up.I have plans for next month.

Till next time :)

No spending on shit that i don't need August

I started this no buy thing months ago, just to save enough money for my upcoming trip. And that actually somewhat helped, and i didnt even spend all my money on that.

Then virus happened, and i tried to buy only necessities, just because i was unsure what will happen with my job.
But as soon as i knew everything about work will be ok,  i started to splurge on whatever i wanted and ok, most of those things i actually use and some of them i always wanted to buy, but never bought, because they were expensive and i could live without them. But some of those things i bought, just because they were on sale, or cheap, not that i really needed them.

I know that we dont know what will happen in near future, but we have trip planned for next year, and i want to save some money for that, even if i'm not sure if we were able to travel, but that is something to look forward to.
Shit sometimes happens and you need money.
And Christmas is coming, and even if we dont spend that much on Christmas gifts for each other, i still want to have budget for that.

My buying way too much takeaway coffee habit  is little bit better now, but thing that doesnt help is my work is so close to coffee shop i like, and sometimes when i take my lunch break i really crave coffee.

At least i dont spend money on clothes as much as before. Maybe sales arent that good or i started to buy only things that i really need.

I had some fails - ordered summer shoes, that supposed to be very comfortable and long lasting, and they were on sale, but sadly they give me worst blisters on places where i never had them, but they are really comfortable, but cant walk far in them. That's why one of things i want to get this month is new summer shoes, maybe they will be on sale.

Things i need to spend money on:

  • 1 birthday and 1 name day gift.
  • Sandals , cause i dont have any, and maybe i still can find something i'm looking for on sale.
  • T shirt i really wanted and it's finally restocked.
  • New  regular ear phones, because mine sucks and charges out way too fast, and drains my phone's battery!

Things i just need to stop spending money on:
  • Ready to eat food. We finally have fridge and microwave oven at work , but i'm way too lazy most of times and buy something just so i dont have to make something at home. But i have food at home. Yes sometimes i dont have time to cook after work, but not always.
  • Things i dont need but focus on what i really need!

On my next post i'll share my plan how i'll  try to achieve my plans!

Do you have any good suggestions that could help me?

Till next time! :)

No buy February

I'm not giving up on this!

I need to save money for upcoming trip, so I can see something in Prague. After checking prices, looks like it’s quite expensive city, but there is some things I want to see, because I never been there. We are going there on the first week of March but I’m getting paid later than that and sometimes at the end of month there is so little money on my bank account.
I don’t necessary need money for shopping because we bought cheapest plane tickets and you can’t put a lot things in hand luggage, but I need it for sightseeing and hotel, and coffee (yes I’m treating myself with Starbucks :D).

But there is still some things I need to buy and I hope I can buy just them:

  • Need new jeans – either I can’t fit in those I have, I sadly have gained weight since August (it’s combination of my not soo good food choices and meds) or they are not weather appropriate (too much holes/ripps). But I can buy them on sale!
  • I need stick or roll deodorant – can’t take my regular one. I’ll try to find cheapest one, because I don’t like that type of deodorants.
  • My concealer is running out and since I don’t have any backups, I need new one.

Last time my biggest problem was coffee and overspending on food items, just because I craved them not necessary needed them.

As it goes for food – I’ll try to take food from home when I have longer shifts, and write list of things I need to buy and focus on list. Maybe make some daily budget for food, if I’m lazy to cook after work for next day.

But with coffee I’ll have some biggest problems!
Saw that my grocery store and stores near me stopped carrying instant coffee 2 in 1, that’s without sugar. Cant drink those with sugar, they are too sweet and tastes like sugary drink not coffee. I usually buy few packets of instant coffee mix and I drink that at lunch break when I don’t want to go to coffee shop. I could mix coffee at home and then just add water at work but sometimes I want to drink it on my way to work. I don’t want to buy coffee and creamer and leave it at work. So I have to figure out this somehow.
I’ll finally use my reusable coffee cup tomorrow, better later than never!

This month I have already bought 3 coffees and spend more than 8 euros! Had very stressful week, and if I had time for lunch breaks I would spend even more than that!
As well bought some things I don’t really need because they were so cheap. Sometimes I just cant not to buy something, because I think I need it and price is so good, I need to work on that too!

These are my plans for February. Hope i wont fail!

Till next time! J

No spend January update

I kinda failed at this, at least partly, but I’m not gonna give up!

I haven't bought new makeup items all January. Little bit cheated on this, because I had name day, and as gifts I asked for few products that I was running out and really needed, so I didn’t needed to buy anything new.

But can I go to store and buy only the thing I need? Yes I can! Bought hair die and left store with 2 packs of it and nothing more, that surprised even me! :D Usually I buy more than I need, and sometimes I even forgot what I needed and bought something else instead.
It doesn’t mean I don’t want to buy new makeup things, I just tried really hard.

But not gonna lie, I’m planning to buy things I need online. Can I buy just the few things I need, not  something more, especially if I haven’t tried that product before, but that will be March problem! Because, in February I need to save money for my upcoming trip. Its just for 3 days, but its before I get paid, and I want to be able to afford to go to museums and see things in place I haven’t been before.

Have I saved money – not really!
  • ·         I had some medical expenses this month – I have chronic illness and my meds were running out and I had to buy them- sadly for me, even with my special prescription (because I have worst form of illness and I need meds daily they are little bit cheaper), but still they are very expensive.
  • ·         Bought some unnecessary things just because they were on sale and were cheap – do I really needed 3 bags for 1.99 each ?!
  • ·         Spend way too much money on food – I really need to stop overspend on this. First two weeks I really tried then I just decided it takes too much time to cook at home after long shift and why eat at home if I can buy something on my way and sleep longer.
  • ·         And coffee – I really failed!

My coffee, I’ll call it addiction, really failed me.

I’m not sure I even tried to stop buying takeaways. Maybe for week but that’s it. As right now I spend almost 53 euros for coffee. Had few free ones because I had spent so much money. I even have more than 9 euros on my coffee card , so I can get more free coffee, but I had even more than that.
Maybe 53 euros isn’t that much for you, but that’s a lot (depends where you get your coffee from, it costs less that 3 euros here, I don’t usually buy more expensive ones).
And some coffees were cheaper, because I had discount, but not anymore, because my favorite coffee shop closed! That’s sad , because coffee were very delicious!
And my reusable coffee cup is still on my desk in it’s original packaging, I’m not proud about this.

I’ll continue doing this in February as well ! I’ll update you on what and how ill try to accomplish it on next post.

Till next time!

No spend January, kinda!

I always spend way too much money on takeaway coffee, on makeup I don’t really need but I want to buy. New makeup is exciting, there are always so much new exciting things to try, new eye shadow palettes in same brown color you already have loads of but not exact, new lipstick in same color but different brand i already have. Basically I over spend on makeup that I most of time don’t use or I have multiple of same things, like I have more than 8 eye shadow palettes,  more than 5 liquid lipsticks I don’t really use right now because they make my lips to dry especially in winter, and many more things like that.
And coffee, I love coffee, and take away coffee is so delicious! Whenever I go somewhere with my brother I always ask him to drive me to my favorite gas station for coffee, and  sometimes I buy coffee on my way back as well. If I’m sad or work pisses me off, I buy coffee in both of my lunch breaks. Im even siting at coffee shop right now :D

But this gets very expensive.

My goals and why I want to try this:

I want to save money, because sometimes at the end of month there is nothing much left till I’ll get paid again, so I cant even save anything.
Use up things I already have. I have way too much things I don’t use or not gona use, cant use because I have so much of them. To be honest in morning I don’t have time or need for lavish makeup looks, because I go to work and you don’t really need full face of makeup with everything!
Makeup goes bad and I don’t want to throw almost unused things out, it’s wasteful and I will never use all of them up on time or before I want another new shiny thing. Sometimes I don’t even like things I bought. I don’t need to buy something because its on sale or just cheap, because I bought it when I was bored and browsed multiple online stores.
I pay for monthly beauty box subscription, and I don’t need more new things!

And for coffee, I have coffee at home and reusable cup, and buying takeaway coffee whenever I want gets way too expensive! As well drinking that much coffee is not that good for my health/chronic illness.

My rules:

I’ll start with coffee:
1 takeaway coffee per week, because sometimes when I don’t drink coffee for days I have the worst head ache that doesn’t go away unless I drink coffee, and I know myself too well that I’ll buy it anyway and fail!

For makeup:
I’ll buy something only when I run out of it and I already don’t have replacement at home, then I can buy it. I have my beauty box subscription I don’t need to buy new makeup things for myself.

So let’s do this and I’ll update you in February how my no spend moth went.

No spend August plan

As i'm waiting for my salary,  i kinda made plan how to save.  Lets try and see if i succeed or fail, but at least i'm trying.

Let's start: My plan, kinda

  • First thing is to pay all my bills that i can now, and leave enough money for those that i'll have to pay later - like all my monthly  subscriptions.
  • Then buy all gifts and things i need to get as soon as i can
  • Set weekly budget.
  • Possibly set aside something, if i can.
  • Leave enough money for dentist, and that's not cheap or other emergency things that could come up.
  • No more than 2 takeaway coffees per week (i could say no coffees at all, but let's be real!)
  • I have food at home - stop with takeaways

When i'll pay all my bills and check how much money i need for my subscriptions, then i could see how much money i have to work with, and plan all other things.

I have upcoming 2 celebrations i need gifts for - and i know that place were i'll get them doesnt really do sales, so i can get them as soon as possible, so they get there on time.

Make list on things i need to buy for myself - this does not include food. SO far i need 1 thing new ear phones, and i really want 1 t shirt, but thats not necessity but i really want it! And buy as soon as i can, so i can plan other things. New summer shoes. that are comfortable and dont give awful blisters, and it would be amazing if i can get them either trifted or on sale.

Come up with weekly budget - how much money i can spend on groceries and things like that on 1 week, including takeaway coffees. Hoping this will help me spend less on coffee and on already ready to eat food, because i can cook or make coffee for myself, but i'm lazy and coffee is like warm emotional support in some days, i just need it!

Before that when i tried to save for something i set aside certain money, that obviously i can use if i need, but if i can live without spending it, at least i actually save something.

Remind myself that i have dentist appointment and its never cheap, and i have to use public transport there. If weather is nice i usually walk back after it, but lucky me, has job after it, so i dont have much time to walk as i will want to rest, so i cant even save on public transport.

Last month i spend more than 60 euros un takeaway coffee! That's too much! I even bought milk frother , and coffee with that tastes almost as good as bought ready one.  I have reusable coffee cup, i need to figure out proportions for that, and i can make my own, at least to drink while walking to work.

We are getting takeaways at least once a week, cause it's easy and saves time and effort, but it gets expensive, but i dont regret last months over priced KFC order, that chicken is soooo good!  Obviously it's not healthy as well!

Let's  try this !

Till next time 😄

What's inside my festival make up bag

For English summary scroll down below!
